The story of how the construction of a slurred purpose on the site for children in the center of Copenhagen became a “mirror” pavilion could become an example for other cities.
It became possible thanks to the Interactive Playground Project project, which was invented and carried out by employees of the MLRP architectural bureau. Park building, which was constantly covered with their “cave painting”, Graffiti lovers became ultimately a multifunctional space with a game room for preschool children.
External surfaces of the end walls and internal — the door wings were closed by curved mirrors. This creates bizarre illusions and multiplies reflections, refracts the light, changes the prospect, just mix the kids.
The roof of the structure is covered by thermally processed wood, and the facades are placed with wooden shutters that close the door and window openings at night. In the daytime, the pavilion with open windows does not look like such a harsh monolith and attracts children with its distorting reflections. The simple tricks that the architects took advantage of, transformed a plain booth, making it the center of attention of visitors to the updated park.
