The sewer hatches are the upper part of the inspection well, which provides free access to underground engineering networks and communications, such as household sewer networks, water supply networks, heating networks or cable sewage networks.
The hatches of the observation well consist of the base and the closing cover. Depending on the model, a shut -off mechanism can be installed on them. This allows you to prevent access to the well by strangers in cases where it is installed outside the protected territory.
Before buying a sewer hatch, it is necessary to determine the load class and the material of manufacture. It is determined depending on the installation site. It can be: a pedestrian zone, an area of car movement or places that are subjected to increased loads.
The main materials that are used for casting sewer hatches are gray or high -strength cast iron. With the improvement of production technology, polymeric materials began to be widely used. These include plastic, rubber, polymer-sand mixture, concrete and others.
In accordance with the state standard of Ukraine 3634-99, on the load, hatches are divided into several types-light (type A15), medium (B125) heavy (C250) and super-heavy.
Light plastic hatches should be used exclusively for installation in places of movement of pedestrians. These are sidewalks, parks or gardens, house sections, flower beds and other places of green spaces. They are resistant to loads of up to 1, 5 tons and it is not recommended to install them in places where cars are possible.
Medium sewer hatches are designed for installation in those places where the movement of cars is provided. These are automobile parking, courtyards or city parks. They are able to withstand the load of 12, 5 tons. They are usually made of cast iron, rubber or other polymeric materials.
The third type is heavy cast iron hatches. They are designed for a load of 250KN (25t) and it is customary to install them on city roads with intensive cars. Usually, they are made of gray cast iron, packed cast iron or polymers (rubber, plastic, polymer-sand mixture).
For places that are exposed to large loads, such as take -off or landing stripes, places of movement of vehicles with cargo trailers, berths and ports, territories of warehouses, superheavy hatches are used. They are made mainly from a cast iron of increased strength. Indicated by special labeling D400, E600 and F900 and ways to withstand the load up to 40, 60 and 90 tons, respectively.
The diameter of the base of the sewer hatch should be selected in such a way that it would be larger than the diameter of the hole of the reinforced concrete flooring plate on which.
There are several ways to install hatches. One of them is the installation of the base on top of the reinforced concrete plate. The second is the installation of the base in the slab itself at the stage of its production.
