Repair in the bathroom is one of the most expensive pleasures in updating the apartment, so everyone involuntarily thinks about how to make it the least costly. Then the choice is between saving on plumbing, but paying the workers, and in order to do something with your own hands. Before proceeding with independent repairs, you need to evaluate your strength, it may be the best option to call specialists to change pipes, an electrician, install a bath, but cosmetic repairs can be taken into your hands.
Step 1. We prepare the room

It is important to remember that if the floors were completely disassembled, then it is necessary to re-waterproof, which will avoid scandals with neighbors due to dark spots on the ceiling. Waterproofing should go to the wall (10-15 cm). If you plan to put the tiles on the floor, then stop on a more rough one, this will protect from falling on the wet floor. You can also use a baseless linoleum to cover the floor, which must be glued.
Most often, tiles are used for wall cladding, because its service life is the highest, and the maintenance is minimal. In order to update it, if it loses its attractiveness over time, it is enough to re -wipe the seams.
If tiles are supposed to be on the walls, then when aligning you should not get carried away, coarse stripping is enough, cavers and scratches are not placed when gluing tiles. You can knead the glue manually, but it is much more convenient for a drill with a nozzle. Apply should be a combed spatula so that 3-4 tiles are enough. In this case, the ores that remain after the spatula should be so located that the air comes out when the tile will fit. Balance it either with a fist or a rubber hammer. So that the seams are the same size, plastic templates in the form of crosses are installed in corners. And after grasping the glue, they are removed.

Step 3. Install communications
The new repairs will not look gorgeous if all communications remain in sight, sinks, multi -colored pipes and islands will be visible. Therefore, most often they are hidden under tiles, and large in gypsum plasterboard boxes that can be lined with tiles. They can fence off the space under the bathroom, making a door and use it to store cleaning products.
