Strictly speaking, Pectusan (Baekdu) or byatowsan is a mountain on the border of North Korea and China (China), but most often this is the incredibly beautiful and bewitching natural reserve Paktusan, which includes territories around this mountain, volcanic origin.
The most exciting place is the top of Mount Pectusan, in the crater of which the mysterious heavenly lake is located. Only for the sake of this spectacle it is worth walking on foot to the very top of an extinct volcano. This is the highest native lake on the planet. Unlike the widespread opinion that it is filled due to rainwater, scientists have nominated and proved the theory of constant fueling of the heavenly lake with spring keys.
Another bright and memorable attraction is the Chanbayshan waterfall. Water flow falls down from a height of 70 meters and is heard for many kilometers. During a trip to the Chanbayshan waterfall, hydrogen sulfide springs often come across along the tourist trail, the water from which is widely used in local medicine.
Probably, the surroundings of Mount Pectusan are one of the most amazing and mysterious geographical zones throughout East Asia (East Asia). Too few people have visited here, and too many secrets of nature are not yet disclosed.
