Kayson Fomvihane, until 2005 — Savannakhat — a city on the Mekong River (Mekong) in the province of Savannakht Laos, located on the border with Thailand (Thailand). The second, after the capital, in size, the city of the country, a population of about 120 thousand people. He has a rather long and interesting story, as, however, in every city, which was lucky enough to be at the intersection of the most important land trading routes.
For a long time, these lands were under the rule of France (France), which made a solid profit from this, so the architecture of the city and underwent such significant changes. The symbol and the main attraction of Savannakhet, undoubtedly, remains the Cathedral of St. Teresa, which is visible from almost anywhere in the city. The Buddhist Temple of That Ing STUPA is already revered by local residents, and it is considered one of the largest temples of the country. The entrance to it is allowed exclusively by male persons.
In the 90s of the last century, the bones and fossils of prehistoric lizards were found near Savannakhet. There were so many of them that the authorities created the Dinosaur Museum in the city. And the Museum of the Province has a clear military orientation, and stores collections that are somehow related to hostilities.
