The city for many years was known as Patan, but it was recently decided to rename it into Lalitpur, which literally means «city of beauty». Lalithpur is located just a few kilometers from the capital of the country, Kathmandu, and is considered the second in the population of the city of Nepal (Nepal).
Inspection of attractions is best to start with the main square (Durbar Square) and, standing on it, the Royal Palace. Hirania Varna Mahavichar — a three -story building considered a symbol of the city. Rudra Varna Mach Vihar is one of the few Buddhist temples and, at the same time, the beautiful, unique, cult structure. Mahabudda monastery stores real medieval treasures in its premises. Acceptor Mahavikhar is known for his old library. Well, the Temple of Krishna is visible for a few more kilometers.
Sundhara Chouk, or “Beautiful Garden” — a former residence of kings, and now a great place to relax.
In Lalithpur there is a wonderful zoo, by the way, the only one in the country, with rare representatives of the local fauna.
Lalithpur is a rather quiet city where you can walk calmly and without haste and enjoy the inspection of sights.
