Now in Moscow there are 83 industrial zones, which are about 150 square kilometers of the area. Moreover, only half of them are working scientific and production zones. The rest either require serious reconstruction, or are completely abandoned and are not subject to restoration.
Recently, a scientific and practical conference was held in Moscow, at which a proposal was put forward to create parks from abandoned industrial zones. Initially, all industrial zones belonged to nature, and it would be very reasonable to convert part of them back to the green part of the city. Residents of the capital will breathe calmly if parks appear on several industrial zones. Moreover, we must maintain the environmental system of the city in order for the next generation to live in a full -fledged environment. As an example, a park in France is given, on the site of which the Citroen plant was previously located in the very center of Paris.
Marat Khusnullin, deputy mayor of Moscow for urban planning policy, states that the government is quite positive about the development of industrial zones and modernization of production. He also said that at present there are about 60-80 square kilometers of the area that can be reconstructed without touching the main functionality.
